When i extract regions, the resulting files are always wav format regardless of the source format. Is there any way of preserving the source file type or do I just have to convert the file type to my desired type after extracting regions?

Regions are always extracted uncompressed. If you are extracting regions from a compressed format, would you really want them immediately recompressed?

Touche. AIFF and W64 we could manage, probably PCA as well.

We'll look into it for 7.0.
