Subject:Acid 4.0a Demo crashes on start up

Trying to run Acid 4a Demo

When it starts up I get a blue screen error right after the Acid 4 spash screen. I have a Delta 1010 card. I updated the drivers to the current version after seeing that sugggestion in the readme.htm file. I'm running Win ME and also have a SB Live card in my system.

Nvidia GeForce2. I will try upgrading its' drivers I guess.

I updated my nvidia drivers. Acid still crashes. Any suggestions?

No responses? Is acid a goner? I guess I'll save 300 bucks.

Suggestion: contact SF tech support (email). All you are guaranteed here is publishing on a web page. And that's not even guaranteed. Looks like no other users are having or had this problem to help you out.

Sorry about that, Bill. I answer so many threads that I can lose track.

Try reducing your video acceleration a notch or two to see if that helps. Be absolutely sure nothing is running in the background, including any antivirus software, firewall software, utilities, etc.

If you're really serious about your audio production, ditch Windows Me and upgrade to either 2000 or XP. Both are more stable and faster than Me ever thought of being, which is a given since 2000 and XP are NT-based. (Be sure your system can handle it, though.)

I run ACID4a with WINME and audiophile2496...BUT, I use the driver for WIN2000-need it for wdm in Sonar. Maybe the Win2000 driver would work in your delta? Also run Vegas, Fruity and other audio/video apps with this system-no problemo. Same nvidia GF2 card as well(with latest driver from nvidia). Good luck! :)
