Hey there. I am interested in learning more about the Dynamic tools in SF and I want to know if I can isolate a particular frequency and then compress it. An example would be the"ping" in an open snare. I would like to accentuate that particular tamber without affecting the attack. There are other things as well , but this would be a great place for me to start learning how this process works.Which tool do I use? Thanks for the words of wisdom. Luces |

The Dynamics/Graphic can't isolate freq.s, you need to use the Dynamics/Multiband for that. The Dynamics/Graphic can however be used as a hard or soft knee compressor/limiter or an expander/gate. Compress/limiting and expanding/gating can also be done at the same time. You will have to experment with the graphics line to obtain this. I don't beleive there are any specific SF pre-sets. Left click to add an envelope point, click and drag to adj; right click to remove a point. Here are a couple of my presets for spoken-word type files, for you or anyone that's interested. Naturally these will need to be tweaked some because of diffences in the recordings, ect. Download, import and tweak'em to your heart's content. Go to pre-set download page |
