Subject:What happened to the Tempo delay?!?

ACID Music 3.0 was awesome. It was pretty basic, I guess you could say, compared to ACID Pro 4.0, but there were some really cool features on ACID music... like the TOMPO DELAY!!! What happened to that?? I also noticed that the ACID Pro 3.0 demo you can run from ACID Music 3.0 also lacked the tempo delay! Is there anywhere I could get the plugin to make my tempo delays a lot easier?? Thanks in advance,
-TheBlackDragon7

P.S. is there any way to obtain the actual 4.0 BOX? I ordered the BOXED version online, and got a BAGGED version... sorry, I just like actually having the box...

I've posted several times asking for the standard DX effects packages to be updated with BPM-based timing, but have never even got an answer from SoFo. Just not a priority I suppose.

You'd be hard-pressed to find any decent delays for PC-based composition these days that aren't set up for BPM rates - it's now a fundamental and expected parameter.

Tempo delay? You mean like delay that falls on a certain part of the beat? Try this formula:

60,000 / (BPM) x (note value) = (delay in ms)

So, for example, if you wanted a delay to fall on 8th notes in a tempo of 120 BPM:

60,000 / 120 x .5 (because 8th notes are typically assigned half a beat) = 250 ms

If you wanted the delay to fall on dotted 8th notes:

60,000 / 120 x .75 (because a dotted 8th represents 3/4 or three-quarters of a beat) = 375 ms

You'd then take the result and enter that into the delay FX of your choice.

HTH,
Iacobus

Or get the AnalogX Delay Time Calculator from www.analogx.com
It instantly calculates from 2xwhole-notes to 32nds (also triplets) in milliseconds whenever you enter the BPM.

Thanks for the suggestions. I realise there are ways around this, but ergonomically speaking, why waste time doing conversions when the defacto industry standard is now to include a bpm rate ? So I'm using third-party delays that DO include a bpm. Even freeware delays have bpm sync ! All I'm really asking is that SoFo catch-up.

If you are after a free dx tempo plugin, then run, don't walk to
<http://db-audioware.com>
and grab the db-t tempo delay (thanks Dave!) as it is just what you are after.
While you are at it check out my music at <www.captainworm.com> as most of my delays on the tracks are the db-t.....well, not that you could tell ;)

ditto on Zendorf's suggestion. The db tempo delay is quality (and free).
