Vegas/VideoFactory information sharing site

http://www.vegasusers.com/

The vegasusers.com site is not a place to gripe, complain, request features, or obtain technical support. This is only for users to share productive ideas. Any off color, off topic, or abusive postings will be removed.

The site is also brand new, as is the software, so please be patient with the occasional bug. Project file upload and sharing features will be added in a day or two. The video sharing site will be rolled into this one soon. Please let me know what you folks think and feel free to suggest ideas for improvements.

What a good deed to do! Sonic Foundry ought to pay for your bandwidth.
I only hope the new forum doesn't lead to more cross-posting.

Party at Chien's house!

Thanks for the work and the investment. The sharing site has been wonderful. Expanding it is above and beyond the call of duty.

BTW my latest is at www.kolbokorp.com/handcart/trail.wmv . It is a bit larger to put up on your site.

Thanks Chien-

Just uploaded my latest. Hope you can afford all of this bandwidth, hehe. If you can, I would like to know your server!

I just got done watching all the videos.

I learned more about what I can do with vegas in 1hr of watching these videos than I could of learned in 3 months of editing on my own.

Many tips will be employed in my future movies all thanks to CHIENWORKS excellent website.

Question...while opening some widows-media-player movies on your site my player size was regular, other videos I opened made it open up at almost full screen....how is this controlled...I would like any future videos I contribute to support the bigger window. When the small window opens it is very small (I have a 19 inch computer moniter, and thousands of dpi) and if I select "full screen" it distorts the image.

Much thanks....ASTRAL

Astral supreme: probably the biggest difference is the bitrate used when encoding the file. Those encoded with higher bitrates will look good played full screen; those with lower bitrates will look really bad.

Glad you enjoyed the visit! :)

I don't know if this helps at all astral, but if you want the videos to play at the same size choose View | Zoom | Fit to Window. Then, no matter what the bitrate, the window should display at whatever size you last set it at.

Thanks, I will try it.

Astral,
The bitrate determine image distortion at greater views, like Chien said. The rendered image size though, should make Media Player display at the right size, but this depends on the Media Player settings (a very mysterious area of which I've only reluctantly entered the suburbs). You could start with setting Compact Mode and see where it takes you.

Perhaps on your Options list you could create a links page for Vegas Tutorials. There are now three or four good sites with tutorials (like BillyBoy's) and having a single page to launch to any of them would be nice.

Links you might want to include:

-- http://www.martyhedler.com/homepage/Vegas_Tutorials.html
-- http://myriadent.com/vegas/

I'm sure there are others ... these are what I currently have bookmarked.

Done. Thanks for the suggestion!
