Hi - What would you recommend as the latest/greatest pci/or usb based soundcard with spdif i/o that interfaces with no problems with acid 4.0. I want to record using midi controller and try the softsynth features, and pipe acid playback out to my main DAW.(unless i can get acid asio to allow me to monitor thru daw hardware). I tried finding this "newbie" info elseware but couldn't find any recent info. any feedback or links would be appreciated!! -Brendan |

I've an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 and love it. You'll hear similar comments from Echo Mia users as well. Why do you want S/PDIF, BTW (other than monitoring, naturally)? You mentioned you wanted to record via a MIDI controller, which would require an audio interface with MIDI I/O. S/PDIF would be for digital audio only (as 1/4" TRS, 1/4" TS and RCA analog are).
