Subject:Can saving text when burning cd's cause static?

Okay, here's a new one on me. Instead of making my file names ridiculously long with shorthand notes of each modification I'd make to a file, I recently began putting all the changes in notes added to the 'summary' section in each .wav file. Maybe not coincidentally I began to notice random patterns of static/scratchiness on almost all of my most recent CD's. I saw a post at another forum that explained the static to be a direct result of choosing the 'save text to cd' option when burning a CD. I'm pretty sure the last couple I've burned have NOT had that option chosen - at least not at the burning stage - but all of those files DID have a bunch of text info stored away in the 'summary' section. Could that be contributing to these seemingly random patterns of static or scratchiness that I'm hearing. I generally don't get error messages, and the cd's don't stop playing; it's just that all of a sudden, it sounds more like an LP playing on a turntable with a bad stylus than a freshly burned cd. RED? You have any input on this one? ;-) sk |
