I want to record for 6 hours straight. If I have enough hard drive space, is there any reason why this wouldn't work?? Has anybody encountered problems recording for long periods of time? Does the program save as it is recording, or is the info cached?? Will ram be an issue? I am Djin g a long set this weekend, and I want to make sure I get everything. thanks for the help peace |

The only thing you should have to worry about is that .wav files are limited to 2GB. At 44.1KHz 16 bit stereo this is about 200 minutes or so. If you save the file as a .w64 then there is no practical limit to the length. My only concern is that i don't know if you can record over 2GB and then save it as .w64. Maybe someone else has tried this and knows for sure. Do some experimenting beforehand to check. The file is written to the hard drive as it is recording. Only the last few seconds or less are in RAM, so you don't have to worry about memory size. |
