Sound Forge 5.0f record meters and Delta-66 -Sound Forge - PC

When I monitor the input of any channel at 96/24 the input meters in Sound Forge go nuts (they jump rapidly all over the place and immeditately register and over) This occurs even with no signal present. If a record a file the results has no problems. I also noticed that the record meters are active during recording (I don't remember this as being the case) Can anyone point me to a solution or what to look into. I've tried a number of different interface driver buffer and other settings with not change. Thanks! Alexx
