Subject:Correct use of spectrum analysis and sonogram tools?

Are these tools used to identify the frequencies and amplitudes of relevant sound waves so that one can then apply appropriate eq to sound samples of fundamentals and related harmonics?

Yes they are... but you have to be a real compelled, fanatic scientist to use them. Good tool that SF included, but unless you are a very experienced sound scientist (not a slider tweaker), you use the sonogram/spectral analysis numbers and then try, try, try again until you hit the right combo. Time consuming indeed!
