Subject:sound card switching of audio device type?

I have a soundblaster live platinum 5.1 installed for a long time and all was good.

I then upgraded to a waveterminal 192m. I put this sound card in a different pci slot and installed it leaving my 5.1 installed two.

I have both acid 2.0 and acid pro 4.0a.

I was able to change between the soundcards in 4.0a by going into preference>audio> audio device type and picking wich card I wanted to use.

The question is how do I get acid 2.0 to forget about waveterminal and find microsoft sound mapper again. (it is still trying to use waveterminal drivers for some reason) Is there any way to do this without reinstall?

During any attempted playback of 2.0 with the creatinve card a error happens saying:An error occured during playback Timeout occured when preparing the audio device for playback.

I currently have waveterminal "shutdown" in the control panel and it is not being mapped thru or used. I have my soundblaster creative active and selected to use this device during playback, map thru this device..etc...so I am lost.

Thanks for any help....ASTRAL.
