okay...what i've been trying to do is dump old loops from my 4-track (made with a digitech "time machine" into my computer to work with in acid & to sync with drum looops, etc. I can't seem to get them to properly loop or fit the grid to sync with the program... i'm usually recording into soundforge studio & finding a decent loop point - then trying to use in acid- does anyone have any suggestions on making one's own loops? I am stuck- any methods or even just telling me where to go in the help window would be cool. |

I'd probably recommend trying to record straight into ACID 4.0 and edit externally using Sound Forge Studio, using Sound Forge Studio's ACID loop creation tools. The coolest thing about using this method (for me, anyway) is that when you edit a recorded track externally (or just record in ACID 4.0 itself), measures are automatically marked for easier audio editing. In addition to that, it may be a matter of music theory. For example, if you know you want a 4/4 type of beat (four beats to a measure; quarter note gets one beat), it's just a matter of extracting the audio from the file, including trimming the audio and ACIDizing it as such. If you want, you can email me a raw sample and I'll try to analyze it for you. I can then modify it and send it back to you and tell you exactly what I did to the file. HTH, Iacobus |

Is acid set to lock the loop to time? Are you cropping the wav file in SF or just setting looping points? |
