Some soundcards allow you to route input to an internal monitor mixer (usually through a graphical interface), which you can then use as an input for recording. From the sounds of it, your soundcard should be able to do this. However, usually the master output is included in the input stream using this method as well, so that means whatever you hear over your speakers/monitors will get recorded along with the rest of your inputs. Another solution is to use an external hardware mixer or a true multitrack app like Vegas Video 3.0. (Despite some claims by others, ACID is not a multitrack app in the traditional sense.) The rest of mD's post is right on. ACID is primarily a composition tool, and records only one or two channels at once (either as a mono file or a stereo file). To record multiple tracks at once, the interface would need a major change, basically allowing for blank media tracks to be added, which could be armed for recording. A few users have asked for this for future versions, and it's been noted, and will be up for consideration when the time comes to consider ACID 5 features. In the meantime, Vegas is our true multitrack, designed to record multiple channels at once. HTH, Joel

Can I record 8 inputs to 8 separate tracks simultaneously? (I have Vegas, but there is no ASIO support for that & my soundcard's WDM drivers are full of bugs (Roland/Midiman RPC-1). If Acid can record to 8 tracks, I can record to Acid, then open tracks in Vegas. If not, I'm sticking with Acid 3 & I have to find another solution for recording.
