Hello...does anyone know of any good vsti plugins that are just for drums....like a drum machine plugin? If there is no good ones...Can anyone recommend some acid loop librarys?....is there any decent loops for making hip hop music with many different drum styles...thanks. |

Go find a copy of Computer Music magazine (Barnes & Noble usually carries it). Every issue comes with a free CD with software and samples. In the library section of the CD, there will be the Computer Music/Muon SR202 (a damn fine piece of free software in my opinion) and the Fxpansion DR-002, both drum-specific samplers. The included samples for the SR-202 aren't terrible, and also you can load your own samples as well. There are tons of free drum samples available on the net with some searching. If you feel like making your own, the CD also includes several VSTi's, that with some tweaking, can do drum synthesis (look at Triangle II). That's just one idea. If you go look over at KVR-VST you will find several more options. |

I use FXPansions's DR-008 as a drum machine. It's a sampler made to act like a drum machone and it acts great. There are over 1 gig of drum sets from FXPansion and other users available for it free with purchase of DR-008. TeeCee |

Just to add to the advice, you can also sequence your own drum patterns using percussion One-shots. Not every SoFo library has these track types though. There's a ton of them on the Junkyard Rhythms library. Personally, I would like to have more percussion One-shots available, as I like to sequence my own patterns rather than having to rely on a "canned" rhythm. HTH, Iacobus |
