So here's a weird one. Mind you I can work around it, it's just tedious. 1. Record track (guitar through POD, then into Echo Mia). Don't like it. want to re-record. Delete track. create new one to record. 2. Record take 2. Almost there, but missing something. Delete. 3. Create take 3. Boom, frozen Acid, system error, shut down Acid. 4. Open it back up. "Do you want to autorestore last file?" Yes. 5. Click create track, to record guitar. This time regular 1/4" in's on Mia are completely unavailable, only SPDIF is there. 6. Reboot. 7. Everything back to normal, only to do it all over again after approx. 3 tries. Any ideas? (AMD 700Mhz, 512 ram, ATI XPert, Echo Mia, Win2K, all current drivers.) |

I can record straight into ACID 4.0 over and over again to my heart's content. Guitar going through GNX2 guitar effect processor's S/PDIF out going into my Audiophile 2496's S/PDIF in. Could it be the Mia's drivers? Have you tried the other versions of the drivers? Are you using ASIO or WDM? Iacobus |

If you crashed ACID, the ASIO drivers are probably hung up, and you will need to reboot the machine to bring them back. It's pretty normal if you crash while anyone's ASIO drivers (with any host app). If I'm remembering correctly, if you crash the Echo cards while using ASIO, the whole interface will be hung up and you won't be able to playback using standard Wave drivers either until you reboot the machine. Ah ha!!! I'm such a n00b, I didn't have the most up to date drivers for my Mia. I downloaded them and recorded this morning, and sure enough no matter how many takes of my crappy guitar playing, Acid 4 did not crash like it did before. That's nutty, ain't it? |
