Subject:Recording from mic but not from speakers!

How do I change the recording from what is going into my microhone, to what is coming out of my speakers. Please anyone help me, I've looked in help files, looked in my manual and nothing. I just need to know where the selection is to change microphone to speaker, and then be able to change it back. Thank you for any support you may give me.

my version is Soundforge XP 4.5

This can be handled in the windows mixer section, usually a small speaker icon on the botton right task bar. Go under "Options>Properties" then check "recording". This will allow you to choose what sound mapper is selecting for the recording device. In some sound mapper mixers there is a check box to "record what you are hearing", to be able to record the speaker outputs. Others you have to select the "line In" as your record device and then plug your speaker output into the line in jack of your sound card.

Have you checked your volume properties ? In the bottom right hand corner of you windows.. you should have a volume button. Double click it... select options/ properties / recording. Then select your source... if you are not using your mic at the time. You should mute it from in the volume properties.
If you do not have the volume option in the bottom right hand corner.... go to start/ control panel/ then select it in there....
