Hi y'all I'm new to this board. I've been using ACID 2.0 for a while and was getting on great with it. Then i did something foolish. I upgraded!! Ever since i'm having problems. Does anyone else find the load times in ACID 3 to be too long. I'm talking about when you are auditiong loops by clicking on them in the explorer pane. It takes about 3 seconds before i hear them. which makes flicking thru samples excrutiangly slow to the point where I've gone back to acid 2.0 for the moment. (the load time for acid 2 was around a second). I've spoken to Sonic Foundry and they say the load times are faster for 3.0 than for 2.0 and I must have some kind of hardware problem going on. But everything else is going OK and its a P4 2.4GHz so its not the processor speed. Sorry to hit you all with this one for starters but its BUGGING me big time! Thanks D |

I never used 2.0, but in 3.0g I audition loops while the main song is playing. I very much appreciate the small delay since it means that the loops start in perfect sync with the song. That feature alone is worth every bit of apparant latency to me. |

Could it be while Acid is scanning for plug-ins? I don't recall Acid 2 scanning for plug-ins on every load. Maybe you have a bad plug-in. TeeCee |

This probably(most likely) won't apply to your situation at all, but I couldn't resist a copy/paste of this info.....on fat32 vs. ntfs. ....."Some Logic Audio users have reported playback delays (>3 seconds) when using FAT32 on Windows XP, which can be resolved by simply switching to NTFS. This is actually a well documented problem. Try doing a search on the Sound On Sound forums for more details on this issue........" I need a link or info on configuring a system for sound. I am configured for video. Any differences? |
