Anyone have any recommendations or can post a link? I'm looking for a virtual synth that would closely emulate a Clavia Nord Lead. Been wanting to purchase one of these for awhile, but was wondering if there was an optional software solution.

Aren't the I and II Virtual Analogs? There are many VA plug-ins, Junglist being one of them. I suggest that you head over to http://www.kvr-vst.com/ to get an ear full. The site is dedicated to plug-in FX and synths.

Brian,

Click here for a list of VSTi's that we've compiled that are known to work with Acid. Links are also provided to the websites. I haven't updated it lately, but I'll probably do so later tonight if I have time. After you check KvR, I also recommend viewing VST Central. Both KvR and this site have search pages that let you sort instruments by type.

HTH,
Nick

Thanks for the recommendations, I went to KVR and checked out Junglist and that may be the one for me. I know the Nord Lead is a digital simulation of the analog stuff, but I just don't know which analog. My studio partner had a big collection of analog keys like Moogs and a ton of the other one's with oscillators and patch cords, but what I'm really looking for is "The Crystal Method" type of sounding stuff. I heard Crystal Meth used a Nord Lead as the foundation of a lot of their stuff and I checked one out while working with the keyboard player of George Clinton and it was definitely what I was looking for. So if anyone's familiar with the Crystal Method stuff "Vegas album", and have other good recommendations for that type of sound, I will definitely have to check it out.

Most VA's are representations of a typical Analog but with there own character, usually defined by the FX or filters. What you are probably looking for is a VSTi with a filter algorithm that emulates the Nords. Did you search K-v-R? If you find something, let us all know. I've never been a huge Nord fan, I'm a Prophecy man myself, but the Nords are wildly popular and it would not hurt to have one in my arsenal.
