Hi, First : Yes, i installed the Acid Beta Fix driver given on the website of M-Audio. I've been experiencing many issues with my configuration till i got each of my hardware a real IRQ (with disabling ACPI management), and till i went back to the Detonator drivers 28.32 for my TNT2 32 graphic card (the latest one made my computer act like a Pentium 133 with 16mb of RAM). I notice too that i had to make Acid 4.0a's shorcut start with the compability of Windows 2000 nor it would send me an error message each time i'd run it. After having resolved all these problems MYSELF (and thanx to the Google Groups Search Engine), here's another one :) Acid 4.0a, one time out of 5 seconds, stutters like in the Matrix movie (you know when Keanu Reeves touches the mirror and that it gets into his throat, it does the same sound). I have a P4 2.0Ghz, with 512 Mb of Ram, and the Control Panel of my soundcard is configured to 512 Samples (11 ms), wich is the most i can configure, nor i'd have latency with my VST Instruments. I noticed that when i put the driver "Windows Sound Mapper", the problem is gone... Do you have any idea of what that is ? |

Ooh that's weird. Still sounds like it's something screwy with the ASIO beta drivers if it works fine with the Windows SOund Mapper. I've got my Echo Mia running the ASIO drivers, and it works like butta. I'm running an AMD 700Mhz Duron, with 512mb RAM and a Via KT133a chipset. |

Fadengo: It sounds like you're going to have to fatten up tha latency. I know you don't want to, but you might have to. Try increasing the buffers and see fi it fixes it. I can't get anything in Acid like I can get in Reason for latency. TeeCee |

Good News and Bad News: I have a very similar setup and have experienced exactly the same problem and tried the same fixes (and then some). Increasing your latency won't fix it and more importantly you shouldn't have to. I spoke to M-Audio who advised you should NEVER have to go above 384 samples with the Audiophile. I tried going to 1500+ but it doesn't change anything anyway. After many, many hours on the phone to SF and M-Audio the only clear answer I've gotten is that M-Audio's revised ASIO driver files still don't work for many Delta users. But given all the bugs in Acid 4.0a I'm not 100% sure. I've given up and gone back to Windows Classic Sound Mapper - which gives the same MME quality as Acid 3.0 anyway. We need to continue to hassle SF and M-Audio to fix them. Sorry I can't be more help... |

mtb: Thanks for doing the foot work. That's loads of help, at least in the genera M-Audio knowledge department. The 384 buffer thing is something I'll have to remember. TeeCee |

I have an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 (using the beta Delta drivers) and an M-Audio USB Duo. I only have to set the latency relatively high with the Audiophile (about 1024 samples) when I have a busy project. Other than that, it's fine. Such as it is with digital audio, I guess (as opposed to MIDI). Believe it or not, I have to set the Duo to a really low latency if I expect to use it. Jacking the latency all the way (1764 samples) gives me problems, but setting it to 441 samples works just fine. Iacobus |
