There's also Acid Blotter which is freeware instead of shareware which does the same thing. If I can remember where I found it, I'll post the link. Just curious Jacose, what would make it illeagal? Just the copywrite of the name Acidized? or do you mean the actual process? What about cakewalk who really pushes the Acidized features of Sonar, etc.? |

Just curious Jacose, what would make it illeagal? Just the copywrite of the name Acidized? or do you mean the actual process? What about cakewalk who really pushes the Acidized features of Sonar, etc.? I thought it was cracked software, tahts all.... and its not. Acidizer 2.2 What is Acidizer? Acidizer is an add-on tool for users of the Sonic Foundry ACID suite. It is used to add extra information to wave audio files so that ACID will automatically recognize the file as a one-shot, a loop, or a disk-based audio file. It also aids ACID in knowing how to accurately pitch-shift or time-stretch a wave file. If you use lots of wave files with ACID, changing each file separately can be a real pain. Acidizer allows you to make changes to these settings just as easily as using Windows Explorer. Drag and drop individual files, or whole directories at a time!! You'll be done in seconds - time you can spend perfecting your ACID creations. Where do I get it? Download it here (3 mb). The shareware, version will work three times before asking you to register. |

Hey, I thought you guys didn't like Acidizer. Someone stated that it's prone to assigning incorrect tempo and key data.........or something. Any luck with it? |

I can't see how you can ACIDize a whole group of files unless they had the same tempo and key info. What about files with, say, different BPM's? Can any of those tools distinguish the difference and assign tempo info appropriately? Iacobus |

ACID Blotter can be downloaded here: http://www.sonicspot.com/acidblotter/acidblotter.html As I mentioned in a different thread, I haven't used it in years, it does not have support for beatmapped tracks, but otherwise, it should work well for you. Nate |

Has anyone used Acid Blotter? http://www.sonicspot.com/acidblotter/acidblotter.html. Are there any differences between it and Acidizer apart from the price (Acid Blotter is free)? Chris |

I just need to do a "loop, 4 beats, Don't transpose" on about three thousand files. No key information involved, etc. john |

I think AcidHead V1.1 would do. I downloaded this over a year ago from http://www.audioheadz.com/. I used it for converting files into one shots and it worked OK. One drawback was that it processed all the files in any given directory - I couldn't select files on an individual basis. It is Freeware. Chris |

Hi Chris, Thanks a lot!, AcidHead.exe did it. BTW Acidizer and Acid Blotter set the type incorrectly for Acid 4. If you select "Loop" you get "Beatmapped" in both programs. AcidHead does the right thing with the "Loop" type, but will only process a directory full of files, but that's just what I need in this case. Here's where I got it, in case there are any folks that need it.: http://www.btinternet.com/~taskie/software/acidhead-1.html john |

Hi Nate, Does not do the right thing in Acid 4. It sets the type to "Beatmapped" when you select "Loop." This kind of thing seems like a natural for SF Batch Converter. Can you pass along a feature request for this? :) john |

When I tried Acidhead on a bunch of drumloops it would not set them to "no root key" or whatever, instead setting them all to "C". I've had better luck with Chickensys' Translator after corresponding with the programmer a while back. You can set all Acid properties and batch process a folder at a time. I use the cheaper Gigaversion for this, it does 24-bit waves as well. Sonic's own Batch Converter should be a natural candidate for this... |
