audio interface

Before I invest in a multi-track audio interface to use with VV 3.0, what are some recommendations? I had used the Tascam 822 eight track with some success when I had windows 98, but now I have windows 2000 and it won't work. I need at least 8 tracks to bring in from my 8 bus analog board. Coaxial digital in/out would be nice, as well as a phone-out. Midi in/out is a bonus. Is there anything I should avoid, as in something that won't recognize? I see a new hard disk multi track in my futer. Any help? P.S. I have fire wire, USB, and SCSI inputs available.

Hi Charles,

I've been using cards from Echo Audio (Gina24 and Layla24 / www.echoaudio.com) under WinXP SP1 without a hitch. I also use a Mackie 1642VLZ Pro (a 4 buss board) with outboard compressors and effects units. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Shawn

A reasonable priced good quality 8 in and 8 out is the Delta 1010. For fewer in's the Mona by Echo is very good. There is a new player out there that is getting good feedback that is about half the price but I can't remeber the name. It has been mentioned a couple of times in the forum in the past two weeks. You may want to search here.
