I am using an old version of Sound Forge 4.5 It recognises all of the direct effects at the top, but when I try and use them on a wave file I get an error message that says : "An error has occured when processing the sound file (-1). Check to make sure that the temporary storage disk is not full." What the heck is going on here? Some of the effects work, while others do not. oZ |

Microsoft changed an important allocation method in the DirectShow base classes such that certain plug-ins compiled under DirectX 8.0 and later (particularly "CTransInPlace" derived plug-ins) will not run in Sound Forge 4.5. This has been accounted for in Sound Forge 5.0 and later, ACID 2.0 and later, and Vegas 2.0 and later. J. |

I had a similar problem and was able to work around it by using the Direct X effect in the "Plug-in Chainer" to process (with only one effect unless you actually need to chain) instead of the normal way of doing it. This seemed to work for the effects that gave me the error. I have since upgraded to SF 6.0. |
