Subject:BBE Sonic Maximizer 882

After you have used Acid to create your masterpieces, have you had any luck sweetening the mix with the BBE Sonic Maximizer 882, or is it more hype that function? I see that the local Guitar Center is running them for $199, and I was wondering if I should give it a try. Does any body out there have any success or horror stories about their use?

bbe is a good tool to have when mastering but i don't see any benefit in using it live so i suggest you try the plugin from www.virsonix.com at http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/BBESonicMaximizer/default.asp

i had a 442 in my rack until i discovered the plugin. the hardware version adds noise to the mix while the plugin is much cleaner and will save the steps of creating an outboard fx loop.
