Subject:Question for your new 5.1 encoder

The end result is that you have 5.1 channels encoded and playing in surround sound during your movie.

My questions is simple.

The movie I am making is done in vv3c and acid 4.0b for surround sound.

I was able to open up lets say...10 tracks for this film in acid.

One of the tracks is just a cricket sound that swoops around the audience as the man in my movie walks thru the woods.

This is on its own seperate track...with its own plug in effects, its own surround pan keyframes, and the chorus plugin to simulate many crickets and has the volume the crickets need to be playing during the movie set to a specific level.

A few minutes later a tree falls...and bang. The bang is its own track and swoops left to right as the tree falls. No effects.

As you can see by the time I finish making my movie I will have at least 100 sound effects, voice tracks of actors, and big booms...etc.

Ok.. Now for the question...how do I get all 100 sound effects and the rest of my many tracks into 5.1 channels without losing my volumes and effects and surround panning keyframes?...does your new ac3 encoder plug in do this or just encode 6 single tracks like softencode did?

If it does only encode 6 tracks then how do I make all my tracks into six tracks without losing my surround pan keyframes and volumes....

Thanks for any help or advice....Astral.

The forthcoming 5.1 encoder will be a plug-in for ACID 4 (initially), so all you need to do is set up the surround mix the way you like it...then render to one of the 5.1 templates. If you need the old Softencode behavior, you could drop a group of .wav files mixed elsewhere into ACID 4, set the surround panners to the correct channels...then render. You can also encode stereo AC-3 if you need that.
