Looks like 5.1 encoding is getting a little closer with Acid Pro 4.0 & it's soon to be released encoder plug-in

Anyone from Sonic
-----------------
I take it with this you will not only be able to burn audio to DVD direct , but you will be able to encode & save the required AC-3 5.1 files for inclusion with DVD authoring packages ?

Would we be able to use this new software as an authoring DVD software to burn our mpeg2 files like ulead DVD workshop?

The burning utility will let you burn your surround mixes to DVD, but that is all it does- this is not a full blown authoring tool. The 5.1 encoder is where the value is-this thing will sell for less than half of any other 5.1 AC-3 encoder currently on the market. The encoder works with ACID 4 only at of right now, so be aware of that.

Will you be able to make music dvd's that can play on a stand alone player?
SonyDennis wrote on 10/8/2002, 12:40 PM
Yes. The discs are DVD-Video format, stereo or 5.1 surround. They will play on the millions of DVD players that can play burned DVD media.
