has anyone got these two talking yet...?

I can trigger samples in battery by clicking their pads, but cant get acids midi track to trigger battery as a whole.. even when i've set the midi channel to all, or 1, or whatever.

Is this a known problem, and will there be a fix soon?

No fix. Battery works fine in 4.0. Make sure midi track is being sent to appropriate device, in this case Battery. The only bug I've seen with battery is slow redraws of the display. May just be my poor old system.

OK.. dunno why it doesnt work for me then...

I set the acid midi track to midi channel 1, and make sure battery is assigned as its soft synth. In battery, i load up the samples, ie, kick on c1, hat on c2 etc.. and set the midi channel to 1 for each sample pad... and.. it doesnt work when i trigger acids midi piano roll thingy... could you tell me what i'm doin wrong?

Cheers

1) setup up a new midi track
2) load up battery as a vsti
3) load up a kit; don't tweak it at all for the moment (not even MIDI chans)
4) on the midi track, inbetween the track name and mute & solo buttons there is another button - click once on it and choose "Softsynth (Battery)".

ok.. done that, and still the same thing.. i place notes on c1 in the piano roll, press play, and hey,, no sound... when i click on the c1 cell,, i get a sound .... there must be something wrong.. do i have to adjust the midi settings in the acid properties section or something?

If i do exactly thew same with the dls soft synth... i get sounds.

The communication between acid and battery is, therefore, suspect... i think!!??

substance:

There are a couple of different note naming convetions out there. For example, C1 in Cubase/Logic is the same as C3 in SONAR. In ACID, we chose to use the same note naming scheme as SONAR, simply because it's closer to ACID's market and more likely to have crossover. I believe that Battery uses Cubase's note naming scheme, so you may need to shift the location you paint your notes in the Piano Roll up two octaves.

Hope this helps,
Nate
