I used to love in Acid 3 and Sound forge 5 Just right clicking a file, opening it up in sound forge, editing it, saving it, and going back to Acid to find a newly edited file. it was that simple. now, everytime I save a file in Sound forge it says "file cannot be created"... I made sure that Acid puts media offline when it is not the active app, but it still does it. Although, I think sound forge does this with EVERY file I try to overwrite so Ill post there as is may be a sound forge problem. thx peeps |

Are the files you're working on read-only, by any chance? HTH, Joel |

no, I checked that of course, but that would be a big reason1!! this only happens on some files... its when certain things are used... for instance if I delete a section of the file, i can save it. however, if I normalize it or flange it with a 3rd part DX effect, I cant save it. |

I'm having the same problem with SoundForge6. It happens whether or not I'm using acid at the same time and whether or not the file is actually in use by another program. And oddly, sometimes it does work. I haven't been able to pin point any pattern when it does or doesn't work. What I've been doing is saving the file with a different name, deleting the old one, and then renaming the new one with the old name....big pain in the butt! - Rich |

Which build of Sound Forge 6 are you using? Check Help/About to find out. If not SF6.0b, that might fix it. Also, is this with .wav files, or compressed file-types, like .mp3's, and .pca's? HTH, Joel |
