How Do I Set Up My Midi on Acid 4.0? I have Acid Pro 4.0 and I am planning to play my midi keyboard to loop drum tracks I have laid down. I am new to Midi and am hoping for help because while I am getting sounds through my Sonar, I can't get any sounds through my Acid. 1)In the MIDI preferences when they are unchecked they say (not enabled) and when I check them they say none? Either way it doesn't make sense. Can someone help me here? 2)It doesn't recognize any of my vst instruments. If I have to use vsti, where do I get them? I just want some sounds. Will LiveSynth Pro DXI work in Acid? If not, which soft synth will work, and how do I install it? I know I am asking alot, but I need help here PLEASE! oZZion |

hey whats up. Nice to see other users doing the same thing im doing, we should like...pool our resources and make some cash...anyway... 1. Run your keyboards midi out to the computers midi in.(also enable midi in your sound card preferences. 2. In the midi preferences tab in acid check all the boxes. let them all say none. 3. Play a demo song on your keyboard. 4. In the menus under options you must enable live midi. 5. Hit record and click midi. You should be in the "green" with the input lever dancing. Dont worry if you cant hear the sound yet...just experiment till you get input. 6. In the bottom add the midi thru to hear the sound. 7. Add the dls soft synth bus in the mixer window. 8. Right click the dls bus and pick the soft synth properies tab. 9. Look for the button on the top next to the enable real time midi: It should say, internal midi input port. You may have to adjust this from "none" if you still have no sound. Make sure your keyboard is setup to use midi. There is adjustments like master/slave....midi thru on/off etc. You must research your user manual for the proper settings to hook up to computer. After experimenting with these you will get sound but not your keyboards real sound. If I am correct, the sound will be played thru the soft synth. You have to manually adjust the patches under the midi list editor and there are many forums to help with this adjustment. OUR long awaited acid 4.0b update will fix this problem allowing easy finding of our instruments sounds. Also will fix a bug in the piano roll eating memory. You should have sound after this...good luck. |

Wanna hook up this Yamaha kx1 strap on......jam along with AP4. Now, if I was just 15-20 years younger ;-/ damn, forgot how heavy this kx1 is. ......cables & sh*t everywhere.... |
