hi

i'm very new to soundforge 6 but am very impressed with it so far. I've linked up
my decks to the hard drive and can record the audio through other vinyl cleaning software but can't figure out how to get soundforge to do it. Can anyone give me some advice regarding the set up.

thanks in advance

1) Check your configuration settings for your audio recording source. I don't have SF in front of me now so all I can tell you is to go through your Options settings and make sure that all of your Recording signal sources look proper.

2) Check also to make sure that you don't have the 'Mic' or 'Line' channel disabled in the Windows volume control.

In SF go to Options/Preferences/Wave and make sure the correct sound card is selected for recording and playback.
To adjust the input level of an internal sound card, Double click the yellow volume control icon on the task bar and select Options/Properties/Recording and make sure the correct boxes are check marked. (most likley you'll be using line) Click OK, you should get the record level control.
If your need to clean up clicks, pops, ect, you will need the Noise Reduction-2 plug-in. It ain't cheap but it works.
I assume you are using a phono preamp for the proper RIAA EQ curves.
