I've been playing around with Acid Pro 4 for a couple days now, and have found out how to make a single track remix, cool deal. Now for the question that popped into my head, can acid perform anykind of beat-mixing, like a dj would at a club, and i'm not just talking dance music, i'm talking hip hop and r&b also. I know most of you will understand what i'm talking about, and yes i do know how to beat-mix on both cd players and turntables, but i was wanting to make a mix cd with some stuff on it were it had say, a 2-32 mix time on it from one song to the next, how would i even start to do this?? Thanks for any help!!

Since I'm not a DJ, I'm not too sure what you're talking about, other than maybe trying to crossfade one mix into another, overlapping their similar BPM's?

If so, select one track's event and another track's event and have them overlap along the timeline. Press F on your keyboard. Additionally, you can select the type of fade once that's done by right-clicking and selecting Fade Type and then the fade you want. (You can also mouseover the quick fade edge's offset, right-click and do the same thing but without the Fade Type dialog.)

Doing this properly would require that you use several hard disk based tracks, not Acid's specialty, and then trying to beat map them (an Acid function that should work good enough to track for at least 15 seconds which would be a rather week mix). At this point, Acid would try to adjust each track to the project tempo, so they will all be at approximately the same BPMs. Overlay them appropriately with or without fades and you have a mix disk. Note that the ends of each beat mapped track will probably not be on beat with the project because tracks tend to drift. You will have to slide the start time of each new track around to match the last track, but the BPMs should still be very close unless the track is just garbage. If and when this gets frustrating, go back to the decks.
