Subject:Deleting without Deleting "time"

I am used to editing on "protools" and I have recently converted to Soundforge. I know on protools you can toggle the "shuffle" function and when you delete you can either delete "time" or not delete "time". How do I do this on Soundforge. I would like to delete wave data without deleting the time data so the two remaining segments do NOT "snap" together... but instead silence remains in its place.

Help would be appreciated.

Thank you!!

Not exactly "deleting" -- but the same result...Once you have the range you want to get rid of selected, just choose "mute" and it will give you the result you want.

Haven't tried this but if you actually wanted to visibly remove the audio data (and not just mute it), you could replace the selected data range with silence.
