Hello, I'm about to start orgainizing my loops and want to start off right. Regarding music 'catagories' (Rock, Country, Blues, etc) is there an industry standard or, failing that, just a good example I can access on-line? I guess the next question is, if in doubt, how does one decide which catagory a loop belongs in. Are there any acid tests for doing this (no pun intended)? Thanks, Rusty |

Rusty, I have about 50 libraries, and I like to keep them all "together" -- so to speak. To go from loop to loop and "categorize" them seems a lot of time for naught. For example, I've used cuts from "Bass Taster" in pop, rock, jazz and electronica projects -- so where should they be???? I would suggest you take each library and really listen to the loops -- get a feel for what's there. After a while, you will know where to go to. Myabe you could put the libraries within more general folders (drums, rock, dance, ambient, etc.) but I actually find it more favoarble to keep the libraries together. Good luck KH |
