Clean install of XP and I'm installing Sound Forge 5.0f and....... -Sound Forge - PC

Posted by: Mozzer Date:9/28/2002 9:49:46 PM I'm getting an error on first run at I choose to run as a demo of Sound Forge 5 so I can then get my codes to contact tech support to sort out my registered version...... I get : Splash screen and then behind it up comes: RUNDLL Error loading c:\Progra~1\Sonic The specified module could not be found Then I click ok and Sound Forge exits - any ideas? Reply by: MarkWWW Date:9/29/2002 5:04:35 AM You need to be very careful when using lists of tweaks like this - many of these published lists contain tweaks that were OK for earlier versions of Windows but are no longer applicable to XP, or are just simply wrong. The problem you are having is because you have followed one of these bad "tweaks". But the solution is simple - you just need to re-enable the creation of short filenames and you should find that all is well again with Sound Forge. Mark
