Hi,

I'm getting major glitches when i move my windows around in acid pro 4.0. I suspect it has something to do with the asio driver. I have a RME hammerfall DSP + multiface card. When I raise the latency to 43 ms it goes away...but i would rather not that. Any suggestions or comments ?

Greetz,
Ivo

samething here for me... as soon as the asio is on (a must have to be able to play VSTi) stuttering ,Glitches, and freezes occurs all of that with only 8 tracks 2FX and 2 VSTi (good ones like B4 et Absynth).

That's really the major problem in ACID 4,where in becomes unusable after recording few tracks.
I remember Playing up to 100 tracks with FX's in Acid 3 with less trouble than now...
too bad for the asio, stick with the MME Config wich works.

Good luck everybody :(

Hmm, I'm having serious latency issues as well with ASIO. It seems to happen randomly on initial playback, and always when looping is turned on and the audio loops back. This even after I've set the EMI 2|6's latency to 50ms.

Switching to Windows Classic Drivers I can do straight playback only at 40 ms.

Setup:
Acid 4.0a
Windows XP Pro
Emagic EMI 2|6 (yes, with latest drivers)
Dell Inspiron 8200
P4-m 1.8GHz
640MB RAM
40GB 5400RPM HD

I can go really low when using my M-Audio USB Duo's WDM drivers. (I've gone as low as 10 ms.) Not so much luck with ASIO though; I usually have to jack it all the way (40 ms at 44.1 kHz) in order for a busy project to be playable. If I can use WDM just fine but ASIO in a limited way, it's got to be way the drivers were written.

It's not bad here with the MOTU-2408 and ASIO.
I can run 2ms(128 samples) but when a lot of tracks come in at once I get a skip.
So for most projects I'm running 5ms(256 samples)
If I need to transfer into ProTools,ADAT,VS2480,what ever and I need more than 8 outs I'll use 2ea. 2408 and set my buffers to 11ms (512 samples)
We plan to test one of new MOTU PCI-424 in a month or so, They claim almost 0 latency if so we'll swap out to the new 2408mkIII.
