Acid 4.0a is rock solid for a ".a" update and the best Acid ever. (Of course it will still get better update by update) But if you have a crap system, configuration or crappy 3rd party software or any else personal psychological problems (or IQ deficits) DONT BLAME IT ON SONIC FOUNDRY ! thanks for your comprehension |

Your full of crap Skysurfer. And you don't know what your talkin about. I have other music software that work with no errors or crashes and being producing music and programming for years. Before you make a statement like that understand some of us are not just consumers here, some of us are advanced users. If it works on your system that's fine. But for some of us out here in the real world, it doesn't work. I hate poeple who like to brag about what they have for a system, and people who tell you what you should have for a machine. It doesn't help anything. Instead how about listing your machine so that we can figure out where the problem is. It may be OS related, it may be motherboard chipset related or sound card or etc.... The only way to find out what the problems are is to talk about it. That's what this forum is really for. Not to trash talk users. If you think you have the bigest and the badest machine that's great. But post that info at the I-have-a-big-prick forum where someone cares. Your useless dude. Not helpful. Sonicfoundry wrote a poor piece of software that is incompatible on alot of systems. It's not just me. It's alot of people here complaining. I have 5 PC's running all AMD chips with different speeds. The only thing the same is the OS. And Acid 4.0 or 4.0a does not run successfully on any machine. If Acid 4.0 only works on your machine then SonicFoundry should print a box with your name and a picture of you in the systems requirements section with your machine listed as the only machine to use. Skysurfer compatible only. I hate your kind of folks because you'll never help make this a great product for everyone. You only care about yourself and what you can get out of it. Peace Out! |

Rock solid on my machines. MachineS. But then they're stripped down, carefully constructed audio workstations. They're also running Win2K. ME really isn't a pro choice for audio IMHO. You'd have to tear Acid out of my dead clutched hands. |

I don't get why we can't be emotionally damaged AND have sonic foundry ship a product before it's ready for prime time. |

This bears saying again: Acid is a people's program, it always has been. Its simplicity and fun-factor are so great it's like the old VW bug. But now buggy it is on peoples' PC's. Average-Joe rigs. 3.0 rocked on PIII 500's with 256megs and un-couth systems and sloppy regs and fraggy drives and driver conflicts and virus scanners running and browsers running and with Coke poured over your motherboard. I ought to know--I couldn't kill it no matter how hard I tried. It just plain worked. Now Acid was so cool and useful that pros got hooked on it too. And now they come on here and tell you the elaborate prep you MUST DO to make 4.0 work. But that violates the basic thrust of the whole former product--it was fun, it was easy, it was forgiving, it was magnificentally robust. Now it's none of those things, and the OCD pro geeks are loving it. But Joe Average is hating it. Who's right? In the software business returns are the ultimate horror show. Halloween has come early to Madison. |

Umm it runs fine here on MY AMD 2200XP Athlon on an Asus A7S333 motherboard running Windows XP Professional with 1 gig of PC2700 DDR ram and a Yamaha SW1000XG with an M-Audio Delta 1010 running their new beta drivers :) But whatever!................. Moz |

How can u people say that this program is working rock solid when ,it's not even in sync with some VSTi,the asio stutters glitch and crash and the app itself seems so hungry CPU wise u need the NASA computer to run it... I'm usually running 80 tracks + FX's on ACID 3.0g on My PIII 800 ,512 ram. now,If u guys do production with only 5 tracks and 1 FX Acid 4.0 is for u... Long time u folks didn't use a rock solid app, u better open ure eyes and see what's out there... I have to say that I've been using Acid for 2 years proffesionally, but now with the 4.0,ure spending more time trying to fix stuff than working. I would'nt believe the client really likes it :) Still hope They'll fix all of that asap, till then 3.0g still rulez |

Hi! Well, ACID runs also fine with my gear. 4.6GHz P4, 1000MHz frontside bus, two 180Gb Hard disks (9600rpm), Windows XP Elite, 4Gb RAM, Delta 1010 - LT platin edition, very advanced super smart user... (a.k.a me). The whole gear is cooled with liquid nitorgen, ... my (1.5 minute long) project conataining two loops.... :-))))))))))))))) works sooo smooth. I can hardly stop listening to my creative output.... |

"..this thread starter was LAME" His posts are always lame. Sky Surfer should get his nose out of SF's collective ass so they can work on Acid a bit more. |
