This is great. Can you tell me what you were doing when you got the crash you posted before updating the driver? Thanks, Peter |

I have the exact same crash. I try to run audio from the explorer window & can do it for about 1 minute or less, then I switch to a wave file and get no sound. Switching to other wave files also give me no sound. Acid will crash shortly after that. I've switched to 4.0b, but no luck - I think it might be the M-audio drivers. Running E-Machines Pentium 2.0 Celeron 256 MB ram Acid Pro 4.0b M-Audio audiophile 2496 w/ latest drivers (as of 12/31/02) Western digital 40 gig + 80 gig HD's no graphics card Anybody got any ideas??? Thanks, Steve Wright |

Did you get the latest beta Delta drivers (0.5.10.00.29x12) instead of the supported (5.10.00.27) version? (Be sure you check "Show Previous & BETA Versions" when searching for the driver.) As I've always said before, don't ever rule out your video card. (Most problems are actually video-related even if it doesn't appear that way.) Update your video card's drivers (if available) or try turning your video acceleration down a notch or two. HTH, Iacobus |

I don't have a video card - just on-board video. I replaced the audio drivers for my audiophile 2496 with the 5.10.00.29x12 build, which fixes the playback problems. I can now use explorer & listen to loops & .wav files no problem - can't record though. As soon as I push the record button, the computer reboots automaticaly without warning. I can record with Microsoft Sound Mapper through my audiophile inputs however & don't seem to have any problems. Does anyone know if there is any degredation of the audio stream using Sound Mapper vs. other audio drivers? Oh, also, windows explorer gets into an infinant loop (audio clicking) until I close it. Strike 2 - I think M-audio has some work to do! |
