Subject:What file extentions, or file types are valid for SE?

What file types SE accept for encoding? can it extract audio out of AVI or MPG file? or encoding software needs to seaprate them? I'm using VV3 for video editing, then i want to encode it for DVD authoring, but i want use SE to have my adio in ac3 format. Any suggestion?
