i am still crashing on moving scroll bars, or drawing on the 'fly' [while in play]
it doesn’t consistently crash every time, but every once in a while....

This is very embarrassing when i have a client in the room. especially when i have a full pro tools rig right next to my pc running acid/vegas.... too bad protools doesnt give me this great flexability...

still not as stable as v3. i never had any of these issues with any previous release from $F...

when is $F going to really think PRO level?

THIS VERSION WAS RELEASED BEFORE IT WAS READY.

win2k pro
p4 1.4
512 rambus
1 terrabyte storage
mia echo
motu 1296
matrox dual head

You have to be a little more specific. For example, I take it you've tried playback with either the Mia and the MOTU? Updated drivers for both? Tried updating the video card drivers for the Matrox or disabled video acceleration? (You wouldn't believe how many problems are video related.)

I also continue to have the scrollbar/resize windows crash with win2k (Win 98SE on the same machine doesn't have the issue). I've been through the disable ACPI/get the latest drivers/diasble video acceleration/f*rt the national anthem while standing on your head blinfolded, etc. etc. routine, and nothing works. I wonder if XP users have experienced this problem...

I am going through the same thing, except I don't have 98 to fall back on.

Yes. Apparently, ACID does not pay any attention to the disabling of the "Show window contents while dragging" display setting. Perhaps it is required in order to paint the tracks during palyback and record.

I tested this by demonstrating that Paint (the standard Windows accessory program) can kill Acid in win 2K by resizing the Paint window during Acid playback with that setting enabled. When disabled, resizing the window had no effect on Acid.

yes i have all the current drivers.
yes, both audio card work fine with acid 4 & 3 also vegas, and sound forge.

$F really need to start to think PRO. i know that digidesign is working on a beat matching ability with the next protool. when that happens acid is toast.

Amen to that! Cubase came out with something with looping tools and I am checking out the demo right now. If Acid doesn't start resolving these bugs they will be toast for sure.

Yup. I have Windows XP Pro with an M-Audio 1010 with the same exact problems and I upgraded my driver--hell I even upgraded XP. Back to 3.0 I guess. What bothers me is that the M-Audio people blame the Sonic people and then the Sonic people blame the M-Audio people. I wish they would be a bit more professional about this and just get together and solve this issue once and for all! Oh well. :-(

Who did you talk to at MAudio? I have been working with them since _they_ told me the bug was in the Delta driver.
