I read that. I have never seen this behavior you are decribing, and it has not been reported from our QA group . If QA would have seen this occur or had been able to reproduce the problem you reported, they would have been in contact with me immediately. Do you have a simple case repro for this? It is hard to tell from you decription what type of complexity in a project is required to cause the problem you are seeing. That ACID just shuts down is typically an indication of driver bug or conflict. Kontakt talks directly to the file sub system and also uses a memory very heavily. If you have any additional information you can email me ( peterh@sonicfoundry.com ) directly if you'd like. We want to solve this if we can. Peter |

I sent an email to PeterH, and to MattL, they are different, so if you guys could get together, they both have different info in them, I copied the one to MattL and was going to send it to PeterH, but I ended up copying something else in the meantime and the outgoing message was not saved ;( ( ( (( |

Peter, thanks for your reply, but by vague i meant if you could indicate at least a month (this september or whatever) I can imagine that you are working hard on it but i don´take "soon" for an answer, not from a company like you that i worship a lot, even if my sense of humour is larger than the milky way. Thanks for understanding |

...what's the betting that the same people who are shouting for Acid 4.0a to be released NOW!!!!! are the same ones that whinge when all the bugs aren't fixed? I dont condone releasing bug ridden software (M$ has a lot to answer for...) but chill out (maybe make some music?????) and let SoFo get on with their jobs. |

"Look people, they are working hard on it.. would you rather ACID be FULLY DONE, or 75% ??????? just chill.... we'll get it.... I just hope all the bugs will be worked out, like the one with Kontakt... PLEASE!!!" Yeah, it's already 75% done as it is. Be patient, so they actually get it right this time. |

I bet SoFo is working alot of extra hours to get the update ready for release. It will probably be out before you can say "unpaid overtime". :) M |

ALL THIS IS NO PROBLEM ! Just release an a,b,c,d update every month or every two weeks ! --------------------------------------------- It hasnt to be put ALL into ONE update ! --------------------------------------------- Other companies do it with success cf. Steinberg with SX etc. |

We are trying to avoid that path. It actually makes things more difficult as fixes to one thing can greatly effect other aspects. This is typically how bugs get introduced. Regression testing is suppose to find these kind of problems, but things get missed. Peter |
