Subject:Not Safe To Uninstall Acid 3?

I got boxed Acid Pro 4, installed it. I uninstalled Acid Pro 3. My Acid projects I saved with inbedded media would not open. Even the Icons were gone. I did a system restore and put Acid 3 back and my songs are back. Would it help if I open all the songs and then save them in Acid 4 and then Uninstall 3? Or maybe I could save them all on CD Rw's and open them in Acid 4 that way? Would I lose the fx I assigned to the track if I did this?

I guess I can keep both versions on my computer if I have to. Just to be safe.

Help.

Thanks,
Jumbie

There is a known bug when using Acid 3.0 projects. It says to open them in 4.0 then do a "save as" to save it in 4.0. I would try this but keep your restore option on hand until you are sure this worked for you. Then you should be able to uninstall 3.0 without any issues. I had problems with 4.0 crashing first day using it and the next day it worked and has worked since with what I am doing (midi file, add vst voice(s) to the midi file(s), add loop(s) to flesh out the dark ambient stuff I am working on, then render as mp3). The problem I had was rendering to wav/mp3 initially, now it isn't crashing/dumping out on me....but I want the 4.0a update to this to fix other issues.
