Generally major version numbers will install along side of previous versions, rather than overwriting. I have SoundForge 4.5h, 5.0f, and 6.0b all installed simultaneously on my computer, and all can be used. Of course, 6.0b replaced 6.0a and etc., but 6 didn't replace 5 or 4.5.
