hey i need help.

I'm a newbie on Acid (3.0, not 4.0), but i've made a few pretty good songs.
Now i'm going for a remix of an old song.
I use the beatmapper and the song should apparently sound good and in sync with most of whatever i throw in ther with it, but as soon as i put the most basic of beats in, it sounds totaly out of whack with the song. What do i do? how do i make it work? i'd be gratefull for any help.

If the song you are loading in is played by a live drummer then the Beatmapper is not much good. You'll probably have to take the sample and cut it or stretch it. In fact suggestions on getting out of time samples quantized would be of great use to me also.

You need to chop the original in to loops and pull them in as such.

Might want to check out Joel's excellent post on using the Beatmapper with tempo changes. SoFo should really post this in their KB base as it's a really good bit of info to know.

Joel's method will work if you mainly want to work wih the original song the way it's laid out. It will also add an extra layer of digital processing to the file. And you'll be working at the wave level in Acid rather than Sound Forge.
