I don't know if you guys from SF really need it, but it sure will be a good group therapy far all those who bought the software and that are very angry...

Here one of mine :
-Freezes whenever you preview more than one wave in less than 2 seconds.

Processor - Memory - Audio Card
P4 2.0Ghz - 512Mb - M-audio Delta 44

Thanx y'all

Fadengo,

First, I'd wait for this, since a SoFo tech noted that the next revision is coming out soon. I'd hate to see effort wasted, but if it's therapeutic, hey, go it! =) Secondly, if you really want to be extensive about it, list all of this infomation:

Processor speed
Memory size
Audio card, driver version, and driver type
OS, and service packs installed
Environment description (dedicated machine or not, acceleration, etc)
Disk types, sizes, speeds, formats, and placement
Video card and driver version
Other software and services installed
Background programs
Chipsets and driver versions
Last time machine was defragged and/or reformatted
Other hardware or codecs installed

That's what I can think of off the top of my head. Any one of those things can contribute to a problem, and while it's certainly an overkill list for run-of-the-mill stuff, it's also thorough enough to give someone a real clear picture of the machine in question.

Regards,
Nick

Use the online support form instead if you need immediate help from SoFo themselves.

Want help from your peers? Please give more details on your system, like your video card. (Video cards and their drivers happen to be the leading cause of problems in any application.) Might want to give other details on what's installed and running in the background too. Also, how long has it been since the system's been formatted?

The suggestions I can make, based on what you've given, is to maybe try updating to the latest Delta drivers. If you have already updated but are still having problems, don't use ASIO right now. M-Audio has confirmed it's a problem and are working on new drivers. Try turning video acceleration down a notch or two as well. Also, are your devices sharing any IRQ's?

HTH,
Iacobus

"This Gettin Ridiculous"
Most of us didn't just walk in off the street, load up Acid4.0 on any off the shelf PC. I been running Acid2.0 thru Acid3.0, Soundforg4.0 thru Soundforg6.0, Vegas Audio, Vegas Video,Vegas6.0, Video Factory, all versions of FruityLoops, ALbelton LIve/w REWIRE, all Versions of N-TRACK, AUdioMAster multiTRack, Cooledit, Host of plugins from Waves Gold to the lowly Sharewares and VSt plugins, Entry level CUbasis, Even the Free Pro-tools lite ran. I have many more audio programs and not once did i have to make an itemized list of my set-up for Techs to shift thru determining if i had enough Horse Power. Every DAW setup is Different and Diff as the people using them. SF programmers Know what the problems are. It appears we are experiencing Something much Bigger than mere Code Debugging. IF it's a Cash flo problem then i'll donate another $99.95. Just make Acid4.0 as SMov as it's Siblings. Why build a Mercedes-BenZ Daw Jus to run ACID4.0 then come up on this Forum and Brag bout How much HorsePowr i'm runnin? it would be mo cost effective if i went dedicated DAW instead and stay with Acid 3.0

I worked on a project this weekend where all the resources were on the desktop. Once I archived the soundfiles to a different location and tried to open the file, the program would crash everytime. I had to move everything to its original location to get it to open again.

Crashes everytime with ASIO drivers for Delta TDIF card.

I'm assuming you know that there's an issue with using Delta ASIO drivers with ACID 4.0?

M-Audio is aware of the issue and are working on new drivers. (They've apparently acknowledged it's their fault.) Do you experience the same problem when using WDM?

Iacobus

Pugbrother,

Email is pretty heavy in Customer Support right now, they are getting to everyone as quickly as possible.

What is the trouble you are having? Perhaps I, or a forum regular, can answer your question quickly here.

Nate
