Installation seemed to go fine, but I get the following error message when trying to start the program:

ACID40 caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 0167:bff7a3d1.

I'm running Win98SE on a Celeron (around 900 speed, if I remember right).

Any suggestions?

Thanks!!!

I believe it's related to memory management, input/output and interrupts, but I'm too much of a newbie to know what to do about it...

Can we please have more info on your hardware (soundcard, video card, etc.) and software (installed, running in the background, etc.) setup?

My computer:
Celeron 766 MHz
Win 98SE
512 MB RAM
sound card: Egosys Wami Box running thru PCMCIA adaptor
integrated video (came with the motherboard, I believe...? -nothing separate listed under hardware profiles)
no virus protection software in background
no other programs running in background (that I'm aware of)
other software:
Cubase 3.0
ACID 3.0 (runs great)
I shut down every possible thing in the system tray, and had the same problem.
Thanks again to anyone that has a suggestion!

Hey! nice to have somebody who shares my problems!

Wich driver set are you using with wami box, v2.0 (the MME drivers) or v3.4 (the WDM drivers)?

As for my case, I have been struggling with crashes for 3-4 weeks with the combination ACID4.0/Wami Box. Better, you wait for the next patch, as I couldn't manage to get ACID4.0 to work with Wami (v2.0). Regarding the V3.4 driver set, ACID works, but has lots of other troubles (like consuming all free hard disk space (5Gb) for allocating virtual memory and then crashing, so If you have 30 Gb free space on your hard drive, maybe you won't have any problems)

It is the Core of the DOS-based Operating System (Win9x,ME) itself.

Antistar, thanx for the info! I will check the drivers for the WamiBox and see what happens. I did send in an e-mail to tech support describing the problem-we'll see if they have any ideas.

Thanx again!

I just remembered-I checked the EgoSys website last night, and there is a new driver for the WamiBox that they mentioned along with Windows ME/2000/XP, but wasn't sure if that would help me. Anybody heard anything about that?

Well, these are the v3.4 driver sets. Try to install them, but as I mentioned they won't help much. But try them, and let me know your results!
