In order to enter notes into the piano roll, I would like to change the note names to drum names as you can in cubendo and sonar. Is there a way to do this ? |

No, it's not possible to edit the drum names (GM/GS banks neither). About MIDI, remember that Acid 4 is Notepad while Cubase and Sonar are Office Word... ( Sorry, I'm very disappointed by the MIDI editing in Acid 4 ) |

Funny, I do all my programming related, get the job done my way stuff in Notepad. I just use Word to make BS look pretty. You may want to use a different comparison. Or maybe not. It's more like you use Sound Forge for real audio editing and Acid for track creation/remixing. There's just no Sound Forge for MIDI. There used to be dedicated MIDI file editors and there probably still are. They've mainly been killed by the Cubase's and Cakewalk Pro Audio's. I mean, who wants to be limited by a standard MIDI file when you can work with MIDI the way SONAR does. What else do ou really want to do with MIDI. I mean, realizing that each Acid MIDI track can be so much more than an audio track. Maybe we need to change the way we work with MIDI to make each MIDI loop simpler. I can see why Peter doesn't want to limit us to working with a single MIDI channel per MIDI track. That's not letting us use standard MIDI files. TeeCee |
