acid 4.0 demo hangs on startup -ACID Product Family

Subject:acid 4.0 demo hangs on startup Posted by: Om_Audio Date:9/8/2002 12:06:35 AM hi... totally new to acid, and wanted to try it out. i've installed it and am trying to run it in demo mode. it hangs at the startup screen. i can't even escape with a ctr/alt/del. this happens every time...I tried running 3.0g in demo mode with same results- any help here? carillon ac-1 pIV 2.0ghz 512mb ddram seagate 7200rpm system seagate 7200rpm audio drive ati radeon 7000 totally clean win2000-brand new install-sp3 m-audio delta 66 - omni studio i/o midiman midisport 2x2 iomega usb zip100 i've read the posts regarding the m-audio delta cards, but it seems like everyone has problems once the prog is up and running. i can't even get the thing to start. thanks in advance, rich

There is an issue with them that causes our apps to lock up on start up. ATI has been made aware of this issue. In the mean time the solution is to lower the accelaration of the card or revert to the previous version of the drivers. To do this: go to the Display properties and select advanced. In the advanced dialog chage to the troubleshooting tab and lower the hardware acceleration to disable all DirectDraw and Direct3D accelerations. Hope this helps.
