i need help...

I downloaded the demo form sonic foundry, and installed it. Whenever I run the program I GET THE BLUE SCRREEN OF dEATh:

"Fatal exception has occured at 00280CAF7BF in VXD emuaps (01) + 00071E0F"

WTF is this !!!!

Every othere audio app, including acid 3, runs fine...

I have exactly the same problem, using XP btw. I guese we will just have to wait for an update? Can any one from SF coment if it is this a common problem and if work is being done to sort it out?

Tell us a bit more about your setup guys, like what hardware is installed, what other software is present, what's running in the background, what OS, how long has it been since you reformatted, etc etc. All those things can contribute to a blue screen of death.

Sounds like a driver issue.

I take it you are running Win9X? What sound hardware do you have installed?

Im running win 98 se, piii 667 cpu, 350 odd meg sdram (pc 133), erm... matrox millenium g400 graphics... all other software is cool.... Acid 3 is smooth ... the only other s/w on there is sound forge 6, acid 3, fruity loops 3.5, and various plug ins. Can't remember the last time I defragged, but like i said everythin else is fine. I've tried demos of logic 5, orion platinum etc, and all were ok.

hope u can help cos i really would like to purchase the Pro 4.

Oops, alomost forgot,... sound blaster live! platinum sound card too....

Well the crash is in the VXD (driver) of the SBlive! card. Don't know why, but something is attempting to use it, and the driver is crashing.

Are you using any third party ASIO drivers with the SBLive?

I installed Cubase 5 vst on it, and thereafter i've been able to choose between asio drivers and the normal drivers wheras efore i installed it I couldn't... Cubase is no longer installed...

EG: If I goto fruityloops, and check the audio settings, I get the following list:

1 Sound Blaster Live! Direct Sound

2 SB live ASIO

3 ASIO Multimedia

Wheras b4 I only had the first...

But why would Acid 3 work.... is there a major diferece between acid 3&4 re drivers?

OK

Uinstalled all asio drivers.. re installed live! platinum drivers.. acid 4 runs ok..

BUT!

When I create a midi track and then double click on the icon to bring up the properties.. it crashes... It locates fruity loops as a VSTi (which is what i wanna use with acid), but it neither triggers floops, nor can i go into the midi track properties on acid 4.
