Subject:Jacose's Acid 4 Bugs...squeeek squeek : )

I would like to say that first of all, Acid 4 runs pretty dang good on my system, just as good if not better than 3, as far as how much CPU is being used on each .acd file.

here are my stats : p4, 1.7ghz, 1 gig of RAM 2 HDD 1. 80 gig 5400 RPM 2. 30 7200 RPM

Win XP homo

But, here are my gripes and concerns.

I have NI kontackt open with there stock Acoustic Grand piano sound open. this is about 200 MB and Kontakt is a RAM based sampler.

So Im playin around puttin stuff in the piano roll, I play the song back a couple of times, fine. Id say the max polyphany was 3 or 4 notes.

I add a 5th, and all of a sudden,

(your system is low on memory, please close some programs and return... error: Microsoft sound mapper cannot open)

so I check my ram usage in the task manager, and ACID is taking up only about 315 MB!!!!

so im like, ok whatever, I save my project, then go to play it again and get this:

SO the program closes by itself and I reopen it, and the song plays fine.

Just tellin ya.

Also, I have other weird things happen, like the program, when opening a certain window, like a soft synth window, the entire ACID program just closes, no warning, no message.

sounds like you have a a big job to do, But I LOVE acid 4. It is the best purchase I have made this year, and I will never regret it. I am actually using it more than vegas for eVERYTHING, multitracking, MIDI, loops, it is really simple and cool. thanks so much.

That's interesting.....I've been having that same memory problem. I'm running ACid and allofa sudden the low hard drive space warning comes up...what the hey??? I've got a gig and a half free!?! Then I close Acid down and my space returns..

Hi Jacose
I have Kontakt 1.02 and loaded the Piano samples, In Acid 4 I didn't get that error but I did get some stuck midi notes on my P4 1.7 Win2k sp3 1gb/PC800 w/MOTU ASIO drivers.

i was using MME drivers...

I also have the upgrade to 1.02 (kontakt)

it looks like kontakt is gonna be pretty cool, with halion, EXS24 support, and hopefully better disk streaming for giga....
