Anyone heard any update on when M-audio are going to update the drivers on Delta cards so I can (finally) upgrade to 4.0?

I haven't heard anything either. Been checking here and there. Have you seen my post on what happened when I uninstalled ACID Pro 3.0? It's weird. I haven't been able to crash ACID Pro 4.0 since doing so using the Delta ASIO drivers.

What is it that's the problem? My Audiophile works fine.

There's not currently a beta posted of the next driver version, so I imagine there's nothing lurking just around the corner.

mD and wcreed - do you mean I should be ok using my Audiophile with 4.0 as long as I uninstall 3.0?

I'm about to buy a Delta 410 - this post scared me. Can anyone confirm or deny problems with Delta cards and Acid 4.0?

Funny, I had major pops/crackles with Acid 4 on my Audiophile 2496 using the Asio drivers and an occasional snap with the classic driver at a buffer setting of 384 samples (about 8ms under 44.1k)
Uninstalled Acid 3 and Acid 4 is now playing smoothly with both sets of drivers at 128 buffer samples (latency about 2 ms).

I've got a Delta 44 and it works fine on either setting.

sonicfella:
Do you have Acid 3.0 installed? I'm looking for the common thread, here. I just now (I mean *just* now) received my Acid 4.0 CD here at work and I haven't installed the demo on either of my audio PC's yet (which are at home). I've got a Delta 66 in one an an Audiophile in the other. I'm wondering what I have to look forward to. Wondering if I should wait for the patch...

My Audiophile 2496 is working well so far.
I uninstalled Acid 3 before installing Acid 4.
I read the read me file beforehand and was a little
nervous about it, but haven't had any problems.

For those trying to find a common thread, here's my system info:

Pentium 4, 1.7 ghz, 512 ram
Win 98 SE, 30 GB 7200rpm system drive,
40 and 60 GB 7200 rpm audio drives
Nvidia Gforce video card
Audiophile 2496 soundcard
Wamirack 24 soundcard

I have a Delta 66 and the latest ASIO drivers and Acid 4 crashes any time I press pause during playback. The only work around I can find is to use Windows Sound Mapper vs. the Delta drivers. Anyone else seeing this with Acid 4?

Also, this is a fresh install (not an upgrade over a 3.0 install) on Windows XP Pro.

NeoAtlus: There's no problem with ACID 4.0 and Delta WDM drivers. It's just that some but not all Delta card users are having problems with ASIO. (I still have niggling problems but nothing major myself.) As I've said before, it's up to M-Audio to come up with ASIO drivers that work. If you're not in a hurry to use ASIO, then go for it.

NeoAlus what settings do you have on your Delta 44 and also in Acid 4?
I can't get my Acid 4 to work properly all other audio software does though.

I have been using Delta 1010 beta drivers for Acid 4.0 since they came out and have had no trouble what so ever. ASIO working fine as well as VST Instruments.

I wonder if a fresh Windows build has anything to do with it? When I got Acid 4.0b I did a complete format and rebuild and I have yet to be able to crash Acid 4.0

Makes you wonder how they do their testing.

Hello,

Can you tell me what driver and panel versions your m-audio control panel says? I am using 5.10.00.0031 and 1.03.14x3 2.1.01. I can not get absynth to work with ACID4b, ASIO drivers win XP SP1 ,at least not more than one instance. presets won't save within bank and I get freeze up crashes. The FM7 demo seems to work fine as a VSTi. I so much want to to use ACID and absynth, but so far it is simply not working.

Jeff
