Well, we now have MIDI and VSTi, this is really great. Maybe I have missed it, but is there a way to have a click play along with the song? I'd REALLY like to be able to track synths or bass in before I do my drums, and the click would be a super help. Thanks! - Cowboy |

If you talk about a metronome, it does not exist. However, it's not a problem because you can choose any loop you want to give you the right tempo. Create a temporary track with a drum part, or a metronome-like loop (it should exist somewhere or record it yourself). |

Why not make one of your own, ACIDized and all? If you have any percussive One-shot type of tracks, just paint in a rhythm (using the grid resolution along with the Paint Tool), set the Project Key to None, and set the Loop Region over the rhythm. Press CTRL+M on your keyboard. Select the Render loop region only option, give it a name and then click OK. Just add this track to your project and paint or draw it in for as long as you'd like. When you go to record in ACID, you should hear the click track. HTH, Iacobus |

That's a hassle since most folks need a 1-to-2 bar lead-in before playing bar 1/beat 1, so you have to slide your whole project around to make room for your little click-loop. Then if you want to change the lead-in time, it's another big hassle. The last thing you need when you're working fast is to have to always DIY on a concept as simple and obvious as a metronome/click track. You have to have it for punch-ins as well so it will lead-in properly at the punch point--only an integrated metronome can handle this quickly and efficiently. When SOFO brought in the VSTi and enhanced midi they forgot that a metronome suddenly became an essential--Acid is not just a loop-toy anymore. |

If you need a simple metronome loop, go to this page and download the zip file. It's based on 4/4 and acidized for any tempo. Metronome for 3/4 time signature also available. |

Hello, You can make your own click track, just like you would in any sequincer by painting in MIDI notes and using whatever sound you like, I like to use closed HiHat. Just don't make the track transposable in track properties. See ya, Rockitglider |

Again, once the track is rockin, the click is less necessary. A key component to an internal metronome is the instantly adjustable pre-roll before bar 1 and before punch-in points. Doing this manually with loops is huge pain in the keyster. |

I want a simple 1-button toggle for the click track, and I want to be able to pre-roll as well. Acid is so powerful now that I use it as my multitracker. It's the main piece of software in my studio. SOFO should look to help out the people who are using Acid as a serious tracker. :) - Cowboy |

I don't mean to be a dork or anything, but once you take the (really small) time to make some general click tracks, there's really not much else to do. They can be generally ACIDized to stretch to any tempo and all you'd have to do is just add it to your project. ("Paste Repeat" anyone?) Maybe I'm too DIY (...nah) but that's the way I'd do it. Yes I get the DIY click track ideas its not a problem, but wouldnt it be a lot nicer to have a built in metronome with a 1 or 2 bar pre count that would allow you to get in the groove for a punch in recording. If Acid is growing in to a full blown sequencer then it is important for it to have the right tools. Ian F |

I sent this suggestion (about the metronome with a pre-roll thingy) to SoFo. I do hope to see a better midi integration (not that I'm not happy with it now) with ACID. Like someone said earlier, it's getting more than just remixing thingy. VST effects maybe one day (with automation recordable in realtime), I sure hope so. Maybe I'm getting too hungry, but I'd sure love to see thoses features in ACID. |

yo- There was a tool I was using for awhile but when I switched to Acid I stopped ('cuz it wasn't VST). It was called Beatz. You can find it here, I think (well, last time I checked, anyway): http://www.uta.fi/%7Ehelin/beatzfree.htm |
